VPW – Theme – August – Extreme Close-up

This guy and three of his closest friends decimated two Banana Pepper and one Jalapeno plants in less than a week.  We knew something was going on because we could see droppings around the container that the plants were in, but we thought it was a “critter” like birds, chipmunks, something like that.  We didn’t think to look for worms on the plants.  But of course, when they had eaten all the leaves off and chewed through about 20 peppers (man can you imagine the heart-burn?) they stood out pretty well.  They were also about five inches long by that time.  Sheesh!

Standard processing in Camera Raw.  Level and Curve adjustment in PS and I toned the background a bit because it was full highlight and was way too contrasty.

Squish! This is great, those horn worms are amazing and you sure got very close indeed. I’m glad they don’t live here, of course tomatoes and peppers find it a bit too chilly too.
